THE ANARCHIST

For starters, I'm pretty vain... why else would I put an artist section to the website? Yes, I am so conceited, it has become a joke amongst my friends and I. I still don't see what would be wrong with having a few statues erected of myself, but apparently there is something wrong with that.

Well, a little about me. (For those interested in subjects for statues) I'm a 2003 Graduate from the University of Arkansas with a degree in drawing and graphic design. Currently I'm still there, now as a grad student working on a masters in Journalism. These are truly my two loves. While, I enjoy drawing comics, I also love working on editorial cartoons. Quite honestly I think I'll end up an editorial cartoonist rather than in the comic industry, but comics are fun side projects. I truly have more fun coming up with designs and ideas for the characters than the day to day comic writing.

I'm a pretty big movie buff. This comes from working at a movie theatre in High School, and a video store through part of college. If you didn't figure it out from reading The Anarchist, I love me some zombie movies. It started the first day I played Resident Evil. Some kind of mystic force has since drawn me towards any and every zombie movie I can get my hands on, good, and well, mostly bad. The saddest thing is I can tell a bad one when I see it, and I'll still watch it. "Dusty," you may say, "There's no such thing as a GOOD zombie movie." That's an argument you don't want to start with me.

I'm an avid webcomic reader, I literally have at least one to check every day of the week. I have my own little list that I go through every day. Some of my favorite cartoonists, and ones that have inspired me are George Fisher, Thomas Nast, Stephan Pastis, Bill Watterson, Ruben Bolling, Mike Ramirez, and Tatsuya Ishida. In fact, my favorite comic of all time was a Sunday strip of Pearls Before Swine (Stephen Pastis) "The Adventures of Angry Bob III." If you haven't seen this you need to find it. It's one of the few comics I'll still laugh at even though I've seen it a bazillion times.

I hope this has given you at least a small insight into my persona. A lot of my own personality can be seen in The Anarchist, as it is truly a personification of my own personal conflicts and attitudes.
